Careers in the Security Industry

The industry for security professionals is one that is vital to business interests and modern society as a whole. Security guards, and other professionals in the security industry, secure and patrol government facilities, private facilities, offer much needed bodyguard services & personal protection to VIPs, and also serve as a support net for traditional law enforcement.

A professional security guard will seek to limit or eliminate unnecessary losses for their client. They may be given tasks related to restricting access to certain areas, or to certain people, and may also prove instrumental in preventing vandalism, controlling large crowds, and enforcing rules and regulations.

A security guard’s job description will be directly related to the subject of the security needs of their clients.

For example, airport security and department store loss prevention security are different, but almost never considered to be related to armored car security. A gate attendant or a school crossing guard will also have a different job description, but their requirements will be different from that of a personal bodyguard. As you can see the security industry is a wide open field with many income opportunities and chances to gain experience and new training.

A professional security operative will need to be a self started, able to manage themselves at times, and must be well groomed and presentable in the spirit of sharp professionalism. If you can master those traits, and can complete our extensive security guard training program here in New Orleans, we can be a helpful hand in thrusting you forward into successful career as a security professional.
